TP9SFX not going into battery fix?

Post by SavJames » Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:39 am

I bought an FDE TP9SFX and cleaned it before my first trip to the range. I had alot of problems with the firing pin not resetting after each shot and the slide would hang up not going into battery. I took the slide off and could not move the firing pin up and down like i could on my SF. I swapped the firing pin out of my tp9sf and everything is fine when i swap them back i get the same problem. i have cleaned both firing pins and the housings they go in and i found the original housing to have a few burrs on it that hang up in the tp9sfx. My sf runs fine with the new firing pin and my sfx runs fine with the old one. i will run my tp9sf with the new firing pin housing and see if it smooths out. the problem is solved but its kinda strange.

Sounds like an e-mail to Century Arms may be in order. Tell them you problem, they are pretty good on making it right.

Yes.. Century Arms customer service is awesome. The email address I use is support @centuryarms.com I recently replaced my firing pin and all it took for me to get a whole new firing pin (spring and assembly included) with no questions asked is an email requesting it. Of course, that assumes you've registered your pistol it with Century Arms but that's a given when you purchase it.. at least for me it is... Also,, if you want a lower lb recoil spring, they will send that as well if your getting FTE and FTF or anything like that...

I GOT A NEW RECOIL SPRING AND FIRING PIN WITH SPRING!!! The new recoil spring has the end painted blue I have installed both and things are as they should be. The slide moves as it should and no issues at all for 200 rounds I will get out Saturday and put some more rounds down range! Canik really shipped these items quickly I have to say this has been a really nice experience. Thanks for taking time to help me out your advice was on point and appreciated!
