That's a nice looking pistol. I'm not Walther educated. Is this similar to a PPS? I read a lot og good things about them and the PPQ.
It's akin to the Canik TP9, TP9V2 and TP9DA. It's a double/single action, just like a hammer fired with second strike capability. The first trigger pull is about 8lbs, and then it goes into single actions where it's about 4lbs. So just like a good ol' hammer fired, in a striker fired package. Barrel length is 3.5" and holds 10+1. I can also use the full size P99 mags in it. I love the P99c. It's an awesome shooter and has great ergonomics. It's the predecessor to the Walther PPQ, and what the original Canik TP9 was modeled after. I haven't handled a PPS but it's on my short list to own some day.
The PPS is a nice little gun, but it does not have that sweet Walther trigger. Think Glock--the feel is almost identical.

I was having issues with my Springfield XDS 45 acp so I traded that for a Sig Sauer P290RS. The Sig is now my EDC. I really like having a 45 on my side, but for now a 9 will do.

That’s a shame. I have an XDs 45 I use as a BUG. I’ve had it a few years and probably close to 1K rounds with no issues. It carries small but shoots big. Not just the round, it shoots like a bigger pistol.

I am looking to get my ccw. I am taking a course next weekend. I really value these threads. It gives me ideas of what pistols I may like to conceal. I personally like the 1911's as an option. I'm leaning towards a Kimber 9 or a Kimber micro .380. I also like the Sig's in similar style. Anyone know of any pros or cons on these models

I did a fair amount of comparing and testing when I was looking for a small sub compact that could be pocket carried. I did not try out kimbers mostly cause people I know with the smaller kimbers have sometimes had serious issues, the little sig p238 made it onto my short list it shot well, felt good in the hand and wasnt to snappy like small 380's and 9's tend to be, it ended up being my second choice at the time I dont think you could get one for less then $500, I ended up with a G42 since it also felt great, shot accurately and felt nearly like shooting a .22lr, it was about $100 less then the sig and more aftermarket goods for it, I like I can carry 12rd mags as backup.

So yeah out of your choices would highly recommend the sig, and im being a fanboy of them I currently own 0 sigs.

Can I ask.. Are you comfortable and proficient with drawing and flicking off the safety in a quick stressful situation? If so then go for it.. If not then I would revaluate your selection....

Seriously, not judging at all... To each his own... Me personally... I do not feel that I would be able to do that.. I can guarantee you I would forget to switch off the safety.... I want something that I don't have to think about except drawing and pulling the trigger....

I hear you on the safety question. I personally prefer to have one. To me it is not a huge deal. I understand that in a life or death situation it could make a difference, however, my choice is a firearm with a safety. With practice and drill training switching a safety off while drawing to fire is not a big deal. In time my opinion could change I suppose. I think it's great that there are so many options for firearms. I don't feel like there is a right or wrong choice, just a choice.

I couldn’t agree with you more, no right or wrong. Just personal choice. I’ve only had my license to carry for about 6 months and even in that short amount of time I am already on my second gun and holster. And while completely satisfied at the moment I can see where it could change again in the future.

Practice enough drawing drills and it'll eventually be second nature to sweep for the saftey as your draw.

I'm sure you all know there have been instances where someones gun was taken from them. If this ever happens and your looking down the barrel of YOUR pistol you'll want that manual safety. I only have one pistol so set up, a CZ P07. I shoot IDPA with it and am well practiced thumbing off the safety as the pistol comes on target. I personally like that option, but carry other other pistols too. There is no right or wrong. Just what you prefer.

My everyday is between two, one is the Kahr CM 9 and a Springfield XDSC 9. Both shoot really well and have no problem shooting center mass at 10 yards with either. If I need a pocket gun I also have a Ruger LCP 2 for that. I rarely carry it but it's nice to have if the need arises.

You don't pocket carry the Kahr? That's my pocket carry for 9mm, at 5.5" & < 1 lb. it rides nice In a Nemesis & doesn't print.

The Kimber Micros absolutely did have serious issues, but they have been fixed with a new guide rod and flat wire spring. Works 100% now.

If yours has issues and doesn't look like this: https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/4100157 then definitely get the upgraded rod and spring.

I had a xds .45 and hated it. Couldn't shoot it straight if my life depended on it. Also started getting light primer strikes. Could have been me but I doubt it.

Sold it and put the money towards a CZ 75 B.

They can say firing pin drag is normal, but show me another pistol that does. The pin is designed for forward impact. Pulling the pin sideways is going to break it. I've seen the empty casing and drag marks.
Lots of photos from shooters showing primer swipes on some of the following:

- Glock 42/43
- Shield
- Walther PPS
- Taurus 709
- Kahr PM40 https://sigtalk.com/guns/100841-opinion ... rimer.html
- M&P Full size http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wess ... clues.html
- Multiple pistols:
- CZ pistols: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=75230.0

Just a few examples. Pics are out there. It is not a new thing with the P365 and common on small short barrel striker fired pistols.

That was interesting. But there are much worse pictures of the 365 primers. Some are almost torn open. All my Glocks leave a obvious mark on the primer. Yet the casings the guy showed in the video didn't have them or I couldn't tell????

From what I have seen primer drag marks are/is caused by early unlock and in many cases may be fixed by a slightly stronger RSA system.
Just my experience.
