Looking to upgrade my sigle stage press.

Post by Ghostwolf308 » Sun Sep 30, 2018 11:39 am

When i started eeloading i got in on the cheap. I got an RCBS partner press and its worked great but i have plans to get a 300wm in the near future and would like to upgrade to a more hd press for my precision rounds. I have a lee classic turret press thats great and will be used for plinking ammo. Im torn between a rock chucker supreme or forster coax. Thoughts? @Weapon thoughts, here is a good article but would 300wm be considered hd sizing? http://www.targetshooter.co.uk/?p=1750

Forster. The floating die process works great as advertised, the primer install is brilliant, it has great leverage with little stress (I just use a couple c clamps to attach it to the table and it never moves, no lag screws required).

It just works.

(...and not to name drop without naming anyone, but the guy who got me into reloading was a long time Palma team member and he only used the Forster )

I love my Forster dies and have been considering the coax for awhile. Whats the largest caliber you reload with yours?

I load the 308, 6.5 Grendel and .223 on it, so nothing large. Given the size of the press and leverage, I doubt that there is much that it won't handle, but that should be easy to Google.

BTW, I bought the Hornady concentricity gauge and never saw a difference in accuracy results from the optimized rounds after using the tool and the control right off of the Coax press so that tool has been gathering dust for years.
