New guy from Iowa.

Post by Gemoose23 » Sun Sep 09, 2018 10:01 pm

I've been looking for something to shoot USPSA Carry Optics next year and Canik for it's value and trigger had me sold.

Reviews, YouTube, and this forum with info, made me a Canik owner.

Mine arrives this week.

Met a very nice Canik owner from MN over the weekend at the Iowa Sectional match, so I watched him compete with his Canik all day.

Now the search for cheap magazines and some base +4's....

Welcome to the forum, from the Eastern side of Iowa. I'm not much of a competitor yet, but my SFx makes me look like a much better shooter than I really am. Only mod so far is the Freedomsmith Fat Daddy trigger, which is outstanding. Hoping next year to start competing more. Welcome again.

Welcome to the forum. Preppers gun shop has the best price I've seen on the 18 round canik mags. Can't advise you on +4 base plates, however. Hope you enjoy your SFX when it comes!

There's a great FB group "USPSA Iowa".

There's an all steel match on your side of the state coming up ... Recommended to bring 850 rounds. 😜🤐. https://www.practiscore.com/search/matc ... wg%20steel

Thanks, I'll check them out for a couple extra mags.

Hey man, if you were shooting PCC then that was me! I went ahead and dropped in that Freedomsmith trigger we had talked about, and holy hell is it a world of difference. It drops the take up by more than half but also fixes the one major issue i had where if i rode too high on the trigger i wouldnt engage the saftey. Do it for sure!

Ha! I wouldn't call what I did shoot PCC... More like how Do I fix malfunctions on the timer 🤐

Glad that trigger installed easy, I'll have to check it out.
